WIP Amnesty

So, one of the goals of this place was to let go of the WIPs slowing you down. I originally meant it as a place other people could pick things up and run with them, but a) I don't see that actually happening and b) I think that becomes a reason not to post your WIPs.

In light of this (and admittedly, [livejournal.com profile] wip_amnesty going active again), I'm wondering if I should change the user info/concept. I'm stuck with the name (unless I start another comm, and gods do I not need to do that - though [personal profile] amnesty is available...), but what do you think?

If this just became an amnesty comm, like [livejournal.com profile] wip_amnesty, do you think there'd be more willingness to clean out those WIP folders?

Fantastic, I love lists! Let's see, here's kind of a general list, as I'm still fishing for ideas.

1. Assuming we're going to have a) plot bunny/WIP adoption, b) WIP amnesty/no adoption and c) WIP cheerleading, we'll need to come up with tags for those things (preferably clever ones, though I suck at that, generally).

2. Scheduling. I'm thinking while all of these things should be available any time, doing fests that concentrate on one portion or another is a great way to keep the comm alive and keep it in people's minds and on their circles. WIP Amnesty is a great place to start, I think, since spring cleaning is coming up. Thoughts on this?

3. Pimping. We need to get a little action going here. I'll update the userinfo tonight or tomorrow, to include all three of the above, and then I'll put it on my follow friday post... can I coerce you into doing something on [site community profile] dw_community_promo? I'll do it if you don't want to, but I've put a number of others up there, and I hate to post too often. Other ideas for pimping?

Meanwhile, I have to go add you as a mod. Have you joined the comm? I think you have to do that first.

1. Tags - got it. I'll start my backbrain munching on that for a few days and let you know what I come up with. (Right now I'm thinking something like..."Free to a good home" for adoption, "RIP WIP" for abandoned, and "WIP Hip Hooray" for cheerleading. I never claimed to be good at tags, either. *grin*)

2. Fests do seem to spur people on to participation. Since Amnesty is making the rounds, I agree that WIP spring cleaning would be a great theme for starting off.

3. I can certainly be coerced. Let me know when you've got the info updated, and I'll go from there. As for other ideas: would it be in poor taste or against the rules to post it to [livejournal.com profile] wip_amnesty itself? I blunder far too often to know the niceties.

I have duly joined, so hook me up the godlike mod powers!

I have duly pimped us on [site community profile] dw_community_promo.

Should we start up an amnesty fest tomorrow?

Oh, god, yes! I'm still trying to manage my move (we're going to have to go back and clean tonight), but if you would put up a fest post, I'd GREATLY appreciate it! And if you want to take a crack at revising the userinfo, that'd be cool too! I want to get this comm going but I just don't have the time right this second!
