The second one pushes my buttons really hard. I can see John trying to teach Devon a lesson, and Rodney misunderstanding completely. Then there's John having to ask himself if he maybe does want Rodney for himself after all.
And the fourth one is really very evocative and heart-wrenching with just those two sentences.
